Joseph Smith asks the Saints for a cloak of charity

On this day in eighteen forty-one, after a young missionary preached to many hundreds of Saints for two hours on temperance, Joseph Smith stood up, reproved him, and then asked the Saints to throw a cloak of charity over his own sins.
