Three podcasts, one pipeline
I wanted shows I would actually listen to every morning, so I made three: Morning Watch, Out of Small Things and Signs & Reasons. All three are AI-generated podcasts about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Accuracy matters most when an AI is the one talking about the Church, which is why Morning Watch names the source of every story and the two solo shows check every sentence against their source material before a word is voiced.

Morning Watch
Newscast
Five voices cover everything new from Church News and the Newsroom, the apostles' channels, BYU devotionals and independent creators, name the source of every story, and close with Come, Follow Me.

Out of Small Things
This Day in LDS Church History
One moment from Church history for each day on the calendar, told by Eric.

Signs & Reasons
An LDS perspective on the signs of the Second Coming
One sign of the Second Coming per episode, walked through by Eric from an outline I put together.
Each with its own feed, cover and hymn.
Across all three shows.
Eric hosts all three shows, and four more voices report the news on Morning Watch.
What the three shows have in common
The voices
Each voice began as a written description of an age, a way of speaking and a pace. Qwen3-TTS turned that description into a reference clip, and every episode clones that clip. Nothing is cloned from a real person, and episodes are now rendered locally on my Mac.
The music
Each show has its own hymn: We Are All Enlisted for Morning Watch, Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing for Out of Small Things, and All Creatures of Our God and King for Signs & Reasons. I played each one myself on guitar and piano first, then gave that direction to Suno, which produced the full arrangement. Episodes are mixed to podcast loudness.
Fact checking
On Out of Small Things and Signs & Reasons, two independent checks read every sentence the model wrote against the show's source material, and a sentence stays only if both back it up. Quotations are checked word for word against the source. Anything that can't be supported is rewritten or cut and the draft is checked again, and if it still fails, the episode isn't written at all.
Morning Watch works differently. It summarizes each video or article into notes and names the source at the start of every story, and it does not go through that check.
Being open about AI
Out of Small Things and Signs & Reasons open by saying they are AI-generated and close by saying they are not an official publication of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I approved that wording word for word, and no model rewrites it. Morning Watch's sign-off tells listeners that all five voices are AI personalities.
Episode pages and feeds
Every episode has chapters, show notes that list its sources, and a transcript on its page (Morning Watch's first four episodes came before transcripts). Each show has its own RSS feed. Before the sign-off, every episode plays a short promo for each of the other two shows.
How Morning Watch is made
Gathering
Between episodes, the pipeline collects what's new and summarizes each item into notes.
The voices
Eric anchors. Dean covers the apostles, Kimberly the official Church channels and Ivanna the independent commentary, and Jules closes with Come, Follow Me.
Each story
Eric opens with the channel and the person speaking, then hands off by name. The correspondent covers the story in one uninterrupted block and hands back.
Publishing
The episode is voiced, mixed with the show's theme, given chapters and published with its show notes.
How Out of Small Things is made
The topic
I put a topic on the planner for each day.
Research
A research step gathers the facts into a notes file, each one tagged with the page it came from. Quotations are copied word for word from the source page, and where two sources disagree, the notes say so or leave the detail out.
Writing
Eric tells the story in one to four parts, working only from that file.
Fact check
Every sentence is checked against the notes before anything is voiced.
Publishing
At 12:01 a.m. Chicago time the plan runner looks at the planner. If there's a topic and no episode out yet, it builds, voices and publishes the episode on its own. I don't review these episodes before they air, and the outro says so and tells you where to send a correction.
How Signs & Reasons is made
The outline
I put together an outline: points about the sign in no particular order, each ending in a citation, with any verse or talk to be quoted pasted in exactly. It is the episode's only source.
Writing
The writer plans its own arc, covers every point and adds nothing the outline doesn't say. Other churches' readings of the sign are included and attributed to their tradition, never presented as Latter-day Saint doctrine.
Where the sign stands
The outline gives the sign a status (fulfilled, being fulfilled or not yet fulfilled), and the last part of every episode is about it. The writer doesn't decide the status.
Fact check
Every sentence is checked against the outline, and a quotation that isn't in the outline fails.
I review it
I read the script before anything is voiced, and the episode doesn't go out until I approve it.
